Following sell-out seasons of Skin Tight at Pleasance and Riverside Studios, Shaky Isles Theatre are presenting the world premiere of Allen O'Leary's new play My Inner Orc.
Karl sets off from New Zealand with nothing but dreams of making it big and the belief that 'she'll be right'. When he arrives in Croydon to perform for the fans at London's leading Lord of the Rings Convention, he begins to realise that it may not be as simple as he first thought. Tricked by two fans and trapped in his hotel room, he has to deal with seduction, extortion, blackmail and the body of an over-zealous fan. Will he find his 'inner orc' and bring order to the chaos?
Through the eyes of an innocent abroad, My Inner Orc takes an affectionately satirical look at kiwi ambition on the world stage and the personal compromises that get made on the road to earn money.

SessioNz is a monthly play reading event which is a great opportunity to read and chat about a particular New Zealand play. It keeps the momentum going between productions, and a fabulous way encourage & develop new work too! Many SessioNz playreadings have lead to full productions.
