We are dedicated to presenting culturally diverse and innovative theatre in the UK and giving New Zealand theatre artists and playwrights a platform for their work in the UK and abroad.

We hold monthly play reading events & create full theatre productions at least once a year. Most recently Shaky Isles are working toward creating an ensemble of artists committed to creating new & innovative work in London -  with of course a truly New Zealand flavour!

Emma Deakin
Emma is an Actress and Theatre Producer. After arriving in London in 2004, she saw a gap in London’s theatre market and founded Shaky Isles Theatre in 2006.
She is dedicated to presenting the work of New Zealand and NZ/Pasifika writers, directors and performers in the UK. Since 2006, Emma has successfully produced dozens of play readings, full theatre productions & London’s first New Zealand Arts Festival. As an Actress, Emma has worked in NZ and the UK on stage and in film. She graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) in 2002 from Toi Whakaari/The New Zealand Drama School.
