Book now for Shaky Isles at the Camden Fringe - this weekend and beyond!

on Wed, 08/03/2011 - 12:28

It's exciting times here at Shaky Isles, with not one but two shows at the Camden Fringe Festival. This weekend is the premiere of Sarah Robertson's new show Snapshots, and at the end of the month you have a chance to see a showing of our new devised work, TaniwhaThames. We hope you can make it along!

Snapshots by Sarah Robertson

A collection of stories performed through poems and monologues. Poetry as anecdotal storytelling.

If a picture can paint a thousand words then a poem is a snapshot of a larger story, giving a tantalising peek into other lives, some real, some imagined: the story of a man married to a killer; the musings of a girl living life in a city far from home; the woman who goes out drinking with two alcoholics (who just happen to be Anthony Hopkins and Gary Oldman).

Tickets are just £7.50 / £5concessions. Book now

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August, 5.45pm
The Sheephaven Bay

2 Mornington Street, Camden, London NW1 7QD (2minutes from Morning Crescent Tube)

TaniwhaThames directed by Stella Duffy

A show about home/not-home, belonging/not belonging, land and the water that runs between, beneath, around.

The Taniwha lives in the Thames. It does not need us, but it likes our attention, feeds on our interest. It swims the Thames calling you back to the centre, the rich and dirty full life of this excessive city that drives you crazy whilst you can't get enough.

TaniwhaThames will be performed at Oval House Theatre in the Autumn, but this is a chance to see a sneak peak of the show at its 6 month gestation and tell us what you think.
